What are you hunting with? If you got a hit I hope it was solid. Good luck.

I'm out hunting all day with my 10 and 12 year old on Big rivers wildlife refuge youth hunt.

You get no chance to scout and pick your area on a map. I picked a smaller area of 400 acres that has a river running through it. It's very thick. Set my 10 year old up on some rubs and a scrap. He saw a good one but only had a gut shot so let it walk he txt me. I'm further back with the 12 year old on a ridge over the river it's got a great amount of nice rubs, and we had a very nice heave buck bust us 35 yards away. He was as bug as a horse wide and very heavy.

We brought lunch and will be out all day but probably blew it for the day

Good luck. Son and I went. We saw some does/fawns. He wanted to take the air rifle so the one buck was a little too far out.

My 12 year old just shot a big doe with 357 handing rifle.

We found her 60 yards or so away. Drag was about 1/4 mile. Lost my Benchmade knife out of its Molle scabbard. I really liked that knife to. Deer is checked quartered and in the cooler and we are back in the woods.
