Y'all folks dissing sweet taters are probably eating those nasty things in a can or those frozen patty things.
Real sweet taters baked, made up into a soufflé/casserole with pecans butter and brown sugar is to die for, or sweet potatoe pie are all menu options down here. Don't forget to put some mini marshmallows on top, the absolute best part of the meal is the sweet tater casserole.

and yet I bet if you surveyed people state wide 3/4 of them probably think cranberries come in a can and aunt **** serves them every year.
if they had real berries done right homemade it would likely be different.
there isn't a food on that map I dislike , just some people don't often do well like cranberries
the rules of Thanks giving are
No store bought pies , no cranberries in a can , no stuffing from a box and absolutely no gravy from a jar. your in charge of bringing one thing , you get to choose and we aren't eating till afternoon. your worth learning how to do it right.
That's a fact ! Only way to do an excellent dinner. There's very little that I won't eat and enjoy. my first year dating the wife my future mother in law was hosting thanksgiving for their family. I got there early saw a jar of gravy 1 pint jar mind you for 14 people and I said Oh no we are not , not when there are all those beautiful dripping from that turkey and I made the gravy. it is just amazing how many people have no idea how to make gravy.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

The only thing I would pass on is the green bean casserole. All the others I'll take seconds and after a brief nap, thirds! That green bean casserole is one of my favorites especially with the crunchy stuff on top. Maybe yall are having it wrong. I concur!

All that is needed for a great Thanksgiving meal is gravy and some homemade rolls[/quote]
I’d have to add real mashed tatters with plenty of butter. Butter cooked carrots, and tart home made apple pie. Pumpkin pie is on the give away list, along with sweet potatoes.

Not sure WHO in PA went with pumpkin pie......... ??? HAS to be the people with Fetterman signs in their front yards.
Only thing I can not/will not eat at Thanksgiving is the giblets. Gut pile is gut pile. Period.
I don't PREFER to eat cranberry sauce. But I can. And stuffing.........."bread dressing" as Grandma called it........... It just takes up space in your belly where REAL food could be. Just like it takes up space in the turkey where more meat could be.

I like sweet potatoes. Green bean casserole looks like a bowl of puke and I've never eaten it.

I'm not crazy about dressing/stuffing whatever ya want to call it. I'll eat a bite of it but just not my thing. Same with green bean casserole, I can eat it but why when there are better things to eat? I like all the rest.
