No most of my traps are waxed.
Any bit of a rust mark on fur can be removed with a rag sprayed with wd40.

Caught them behind my house.

It sounds like an interesting story. How did you kill a rabbit with a dead weasel?

I was wondering when someone would ask, lol.

When I trap I also set rabbit snares to get meat.
As I walked into a box,I noticed a rabbit was in a snare, but must have just got caught,he was caught by the neck but had not started to struggle at all, just hunkered down thought he was hiding.
I had seen that the box trap held a frozen dead weasel,so I removed the weasel, and reset the trap.I thought to myself when I got to the rabbit,I wonder how a rabbit will react to a weasel coming at him,so I tossed the frozen weasel at the hiding rabbit.
As soon as the dead weasel hit the ground beside him he went into a frenzy of jumps and broke his own neck.

Excellent story of something that could only be experienced on a trapline!
