From my experience, the real raccoons are much messier, being less intact and often partially eaten. I hope Ellie grows up to enjoy the real thing.

I am sure she will. Today she kept an eye on the birds. Right now she is just the alarm clock for the big guy. But she is doing her part. I take her out with me in the morning to let the birds out and we put them up together in the evening. The birds have figured out that she poses no threat to them and she has figured out that she should be on their side.
