It's a little disappointing to see those nicely mushroomed bullets. To me that means they were found inside the animal. I personally want two holes as in entrance and exit. Exit being bigger. More leakage, blood on the ground and more air out and collapsed lungs. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary. If you're happy, I'm happy. They obviously did their job as you had to have reduced the critter to your possession to retieve the slug. Good job on all sides.

I wouldnt be so sure about that. You and many others dont need to just switch just because, copper bullets are much higher in price. Copper effects on the environment and animals are also unstudied. Everybody would use brass, but its considered armor piercing. Winchester, Hornady, Sierra, and Federal arent just going to roll over.

Also I dont think Minnesota can afford to go lead free, just saying.

I haven't made the switch but have tried to stay current with what's available. It seems there is a learning curve on going from lead which we've used for centuries to monolithic. Learning for both the makers and shooters.

Barnes seems to have worked out the bugs being one of if not the first out of the gate. The first ones they offered had several issues such as excessive copper fouling and pressures but it appears they resolved that with the grooves. Something about the engraving forces in the rifling and being a harder material than lead. The grooves relieve the pressure.

One thing they suggest is stepping down one weight size from lead.

Trust me, you won’t. In fact, you may wonder why you didn’t change earlier.

I tried some tsx in 7mm08. I shot one deer at 80 yards high shoulder and spine hit and she dropped like I wanted since she was on the property line. I shot a 2.5" tusked hog in Florida in the same place and dropped him. Any bullet would have had the same result with that placement.

I didn't spend a lot of time working up loads due to time restrictions and bullet price. But they shot inside of my limits on accuracy . I don't remember why I went back to lead but I bet I got a deal on quality bullets.

I will probably go back to copper as I run out of my stock. I don't shoot like I used to so cost won't be a factor and not having lead fragments in my meat is appealing.

I never recovered a bullet and have friends that barns is all they hunt with. But they are hunters not shooters and only shoot a few rounds a year and buy factory ammo.

Two ways to look at it . Some like to try and place the Bullet to Fold Game. Some like Lung shots . Neither way is correct ...Personal choice.
