The Mora’s are my go to for field work. They are amazing and the price is great. I carry two when moose hunting but seldom dull out the first one to be used. The reason for carrying two is I prefer the New York reload vs. field sharpening a knifes edge.

Is that the Buck 102 ? Ive hade one of those in my deer hunting pack for probly 40 years now.I have a Case Mini Finn when small game hunting and in my pocket everyday is a Case Amber Bone Mini Copperlock.

My EDC is a Benchmade 154CM . For fish I use a Deba and Yanagiba made my Kamisoto , My chef knives are made my Infinity and are Damascus steel. I use a Chinese cleaver for most of the vegetables that need to be killed and made smaller. A Puma White hunter I have had for over 50 years does most of the game prep in the field. And the list goes on.

I'm not sure the specific number, I have bigger and smaller Buck knives like that and one skinner blade with a cocobolo handle that I really like too but rarely have opportunity to use. I just like that clip point style blade.

Like everyone else I have favorite knives for different jobs, but the OP asked about the "knives' design".

C22, I never found a use for those Havalon knives. I'm not careful enough to use them to avoid dulling the blades.

Jayme, I really like them for squirrels and ground hogs. If you look around you can get the blades super cheap. Once they get dull, slap on a new one.

Then I'll go with my edc Swiss army victorinox.

If I could only have one knife it would be a Buck 107 .It has not been made in a number of years now I could butcher a complete der using just that knife from gutting skinning and cutting ii up to put in the freezer .I have it since the early 1980's Nothing else I ever used comes close as far as and all around knife . It really shines at skinning .deer And is a great knife for skinning coon

This weekend i added a new knife. And already misplaced it three times. Cannot find it now. The smallest Leatherman tool with pliers and a knife blade. Razor sharp. Have used it many times trapping ang for general chores.
I love Leatherman tools but wanted one in my pocket instead of on my belt.

Edit: I found the new Leatherman. It is called the Rev.
I also like the Buck 109 someone included above. It is a great camp knife that lives in the camp kitchen box in my truck.
I have one of these but have never used it.

This one is my favorite all around blade shape. I've got the older carbon steel red river and this one. The Krupp steel is to soft for my taste and I wish I could find one in a better grade of steel. Plenty of belly for skinning and slicing but not so upswept that you can't do opening cuts.

Recently found this one online in Sandvik. I may pull the trigger on it to give it a spin.

Another vote for the oldtimer sharpfinger. They can be had for very cost if you catch a sale. I got one a few years ago at a Meijer in Detroit for $9 US.... should have bought every one on the shelf.

warrior, If you look up there at my picture you will see one of these. had for a long time. rarely sharpen it just hit a few licks on a steel to bring it back.

Dexter makes good knives. I've got a few paring and filled knives.

Schrade old timer sharp finger is my favorite all purpose design. My only gripe about them is that it would be a better knife it it was made out of harder steel.
Its a similar design as the knife Posco posted above.

Posco - that Puma skinner is beautiful with decades of mojo. I have one in use plus a new one in the box from the late 60s that my dad gave me. It is doubtful that I will ever need the spare and haven’t met anyone worth giving it to.

I had a Schrade sharpfinger. Comparing it to a vintage Puma skinner is very generous.

Puma began making knives in 1769 and registered in Solingen, Germany. Solingen is known as “the city of knives”. Many knife companies located there and joined the Messermacher guild.
