Just got this in an EMail from sportsman alliance. Seem like there is never an end to the stupidity of those folks who feel qualified to tell everyone else how to live. Judges congress Senate and the Whitehouse. Let Freedom Ring

Quote
A state judge in Montana has ordered a reduction in the number of wolves that can be taken and has restricted hunting and trapping of the species near Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. The court’s temporary order also prohibits the use of snares to trap wolves. The order expires on Nov. 28, which is the same day State District Court Judge Christopher Abbott has scheduled a full hearing on the issue.

The temporary restrictions are in response to a lawsuit filed by WildEarth Guardians and Project Coyote, which have long opposed any hunting for wolves. The two groups argue without foundation that the current hunting and trapping season would hurt wolf populations and impact wildlife management on federal lands where hunting takes place nearby.

The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks had authorized the killing of up to 456 wolves, including six near Yellowstone. Judge Abbott’s order also decreased this cap to just two wolves near the park. As of Nov. 16, hunters had killed just 56 wolves since the season opened in September.

The Department is expected to argue in support of the currently established wolf season. The court will hear counterarguments to the animal-rights groups’ claims and ultimately rule on whether the temporary restrictions must remain in place.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Put the wolves in the cities, and see what their views are!

“ the current hunting and trapping season would hurt wolf populations..”

Would those be the same wolf populations that are expanding in every state they currently occupy?

Hey judge, question, what would you do with a brain if you had one?

At some point the states need to stand up for themselves. Quit allowing state employees to enforce federal wolf and Grizzly protections, let the ranchers kill all of them if the states aren't going to be allowed to manage them.

I agree with all this, I'm tired of City dwelling bleeding hearts telling me how to live my life. Its easy for them when they don't have to live with the consequences.

Western Montana is now becoming Eastern California. We need to scratch a line north to south through Lewistown and Billings MT and everything east of there become part of the Dakotas.
It is pretty easy to find a libtard judge one the western side of the state that has a bleeding heart or those poor oppressed predators.
On the Eastern side of the state folks take care of business.

I recommend against doing that, and I urge you to fight for West Montana as much as you can. If not you will become dictated by every action they want you too. Washington, Oregon, Colorado, New York to a degree, its all the same. Go and fight them head on, be smart, logical, tactful and win the battle. I am quite sure I put a wrench in one of Missoula Montana's FWS managers plan for BLM land, by using the public comment period to my advantage and knowing whats required for certain rule changes. You can do it too!

I have been fighting against them for years through the proper channels. I have been on some advisory boards for MT FWP. We on the eastern side of the state are suffering a death by a thousand cuts. We are a cash cow for FWP to sell tags to folks with no place to hunt. As for as MT FWP is concerned if it does not happen West of Billings it does not happen. Case in point.... this year MT totally redid here elk management plan They did changes to regions 1-6 but regions 7 (South Eastern MT) had no changes.
Luckily there are a lot of like minded individual over here who will tell FWP to pound sand.

Yeah not an easy fight at all, just know you got support from Louisiana, I check the regulations.gov almost everyday for wildlife stuff. If there is some hot button issue, feel free to holler, Ill always send or call to give support. I dont agree with Montana's plan on wolves, but I definitely respect a states Legislature and their right to manage the wildlife by science and not emotion. A federal judge intervening in state's rights just is not good to me and sets some really dangerous precedents.

Where does a judge get a say in what a states wildlife management plan and how its implemented. In truth I guess the states plan on wolf reduction should be doubled.
I would have legal trouble if I were a farmer out there and my stock were targeted by any of the protected predators.

Wolves need to be managed, not protected nor eliminated.

Ya, I can't understand a federal judge interfering with state biologists and G&P personnel. Unless there's something for him under the table.

To be fair, federal judges interfering with some goofy stated gun laws seems to be a good thing. Judges interfering with a states ability to regulate harvest of and invasive species (yes I said that) is BS.
