Last week I was driving home and on a 90° curve there was an echo 4400 laying on the side of the road. I figured it fell off someone's truck but also thought the flows that own that land may have forgotten it so I drove up to their house to see.
Immediately thay say uts broke they were cleaning out the garage and put it out there figured someone would pick it up. So I took it home put my aviation fule mixed 32 to one in and give it a few pulls. Nothing so I set it to the side to mess with later. My 10 year old goes out and cranked it several times the next morning and it fires right up and runs great. Now I need to go pick up a few chains.

I was planning on buying a smaller saw some more chaps for the boys to use since mine are a bit large for them. Looks like I don't have to buy a saw now.

Not familiar with the exact model. But I have a small Echo saw that I actually enjoy running. Nice find!

It's an old model around 10 lb and 40cc class.. once it started it fires right up nice and d st just like e very echo I have ever owned. I have only had their small trim saws d or a back up to my stihl's. But the last trim saw I bout was a echo 2511. Had it souped up but it's still a 4lb 25cc saw with little power.

Get the boys a helmet with the face shield as well if you don't already have one. Face and head injuries are fairly common and kickbacks can be especially hard on smaller individuals

I'd let the boys move brush...running the saw, well I'd do that.
Someone's gotta do the brush piling

some of those small saws gum up so fast with E-87 that people buy them use them a few times and it is junk to them

good AV-gas with a bunch of detergent probably got the gum to soften and it ran again

i have gotten a couple over the years people said were done , a glug of seafoam and some of my no-E-91 mix and they would run again then I would wear them out or pass them on

and a set of chaps for the boy , they make them for small people

My chaps fit them. They have been running my 2511 and 361. The 361 is to heavy and 2511 just to small. I have had them practicing notching and drop a few small easy trees then cut them up. A smaller lighter saw should be much better for them.
I make sure they have steel toes and chaps on. Didn't think about the screen face shield hard hats. Kind of wonder if rather wouldn't just cut right through them so fast it would slow down. But should keep more out of their eyes than just safety glasses and it just mat save or limit damage from a strait to the face kick back.

the Stihl face sheilds have SS in them

the hard hat is for widow makers , I had one come down and hit me wasn't even the tree I was cutting on

big limb hit me in the head and tossed me to the ground , hard hat saved me

I'm ok with providence farm teaching the boys how to run chainsaws. Hopefully they will learn to enjoy running a chainsaw. Almost everything you do has a risk factor. Might as well be their father teaching them to run a chainsaw. Moving the brush can be a job for the illegal immigrants.
