Surprisingly I caught a coon at my friend's house... 14 lbs 1 oz. Not a bad looking coon except for this... About this size of a quarter... I think I know what it is, but need the experts to verify my thoughts. I have never seen one on a coon before and was really surprised. I haven't "skun" it yet, but doesn't appear to have gone into the flesh. What say you? Garry-

Thanks guys... that was my thought also. I had just never in all of these years stringing steel had ever seen one on a coon. Have any of you seen them before on a coon? I have seen them on plenty of squirrels, rabbits and deer, but never coon.

Garry- Yes...have seen them on coon. All it takes is a small open wound for the bott fly to lay the egg on.....

makes it worth not skinning...did everyone a favor reducing disease It is already skinned and int the freezer. Since I don't give my pelts away to some Chinaman, I tan them. This quarter size damage doesn't hurt the pelt at all since it is basically on the belly where the fur isn't worth anything. Thank you everyone for the conformation that it is/was a warble. Garry-
