What a great hunting experience. That's bigger Than anything I will ever kill. I wish I knew how to organize and fund raise. I would love to be able to help get mobility limited hunter equipped with a track chair.

I was talking with a fellow in one this summer at a street festival my wife was face painting at. After we talked a while he asked if I had a few minutes and could help him get his things loaded in his vehicle. Of course I said yes. After I got his things in his truck he insisted I get in his chair and take it for a test drive. Let me tell you it was amazing. The seat went up and down making it easier to get into and out of, it had amazing torque, good speed, battery range was very impressive from what he was telling me.

He got blocked in and could not get his ramp lowered to get his chair loaded so I backed him out and helped get him loaded. Once again he wasn't to show off hit hand controls for his truck and I was impressed.

That track chair and hand controls are life changing for the mobility impaired but the cost is high and people with limited to zero income can't afford them. The fellow was able to get his through a donation from a group that does a lot from the specific problem he had. His hand controls he got the same way.

Those are things I can really get behind and would like to be more involved with. I have a young friend that's in a chair and wish he could get into one of the track chairs. I'm trying to get him to get his paper work turned into a few public hunting areas so I can take him hunting.

I've thought about offering hunts for the mobility impaired people and maybe someday will do it since I have the experience and understanding of what it takes. Right now my boys keep me busy but are reaching an age where they getting more independent. My boy got hand controls in his truck and what a game changer for him. Him being able to drive gave him an independence he had never had. Some day I'd like to be able to get him something he could get around in rough terrain with until then we just find away to get it down. Sometimes it ain't pretty and sometimes we've got into some sticky situations because dad doesn't think there's nothing we can't get cross or do but we've made a lot of stories and no one has got seriously injured. I have learned a little caution when he insisted its too dangerous but I can still talk him into some hairy situations too. But man we've had some laughs at some of those times.

Found out after season last year this buck was in the area, in one of the places we can hunt. Someone had got two pics of him but no one had ever seen him. In January we loaded up the property with cameras to try and see if he was ever on the the property we can hunt. This area is in a good area but this area sees lots of hunting pressure and our property isn't the choicest hunting property. We started getting pics of him about every week or every other in January up until he shed antlers but always in the middle of the night but we were at least in the game.i put a lot of time and effort into trying to locate this buck in summer and the fall.No pics of him in velvet until July and then not another until about 2 weeks ago and it was in the middle of the night at the very corner of our hunting ground. But some neighbors had started getting an occasional pic of him in the last 2 weeks too but all way after dark. In my mind I had pretty much given up on one of us killing this buck here in the last week or so. Yesterday afternoon we were late getting get out to hunt because of cutting up my deer. So we decided just to take the truck to a hill we can see a large bit of the property from and set him up there. I had built a shooting bench on one of his old wheel chair so with some sand bags and his 270 he can reach out there aways. As soon as we pull up to the spot I can see a deer on the edge of the field through the trees and across the creek a half mile away at other end of property. Thinking it was just a doe I put the binos on it and can tell its a buck with a good frame but that's it as it moved into cover. I ask Wade if he wanted to drive the 3 miles to get to other end of property to try and get setup to make a play on it not knowing for sure what it was or just setup where we were at. It's not a fast or easy thing for us to get him setup. After a few "I don't knows" from both of us he finally say what the heck let's go try to get it. So we drive around the section get setup over looking a pocket that we hope he might come through about 300 yds north of where we last saw him but this pocket is small with very limited shooting opportunities and we where setup 180 to 240 yds away.Got setup a little after 4. Set and wait, after an hour and not seeing a single deer I'd all but given up thinking the buck had just went back out in field to feed or changed directions. About 520 (15 minutes before shooting light is over) it's getting pretty dark down in that pocket but I make out a deer moving through at a fast walk. I told Wade there's a deer down there but he's moving through pretty quick. I get binoculars on him and said he's pretty big but it's up to Wade whether he's a shooter or not. After a quick second look I said u better shot him and yell to stop the buck 5 step from cover. About a second after I stop him Wade piles him up in his tracks at about 190 yds with a high shoulder shot. I give him a couple bear hugs congratulating him on killing a nice buck. Neither of us knew just how big it was. It was down off a steep rocky hill to him so I tell Wade I'll walk down and check him out for him. As I kept getting closer I kept thinking this deer is getting bigger as his right main beam is laying up above the grass. At five yds I'm thinking this deer is big. It wasn't until I started seeing all the kickers that I started thinking it might be the big one. When I lifted its head and saw the up swept main beam tips it registered that it was the buck we'd named Jinx. About had a heart attack trying to run up the hill to Wade then tried to tackle him and the wheelchair when I got there. We both decided pretty quickly we where blessed in a special way on this hunt from up above. [Linked Image]
