No guys I didn't weigh this one-honestly-I skinned it on the tailgate at home the same day-my only way of weighing them is on a scale at work-my biggest is 82 lbs-it was definately bigger than this one-caught it way back in a marsh with no trees for miles-the lodge was made of bullrushes

The one thing I always find cool about beaver trapping is ya just never know how big of an animal you are going to catch. I always find it hard to believe that these are actually rodents-Castor canadensis-shoulda been Castor Canosaurus LOL

Looks like that will be nice clear leather when it dries. Still a little early to see scars or dark spots, NICE putup on that skin!! If the leather is white it will go in the $50 USD pile, if it's a little to early, by the pound.

Museum specimen was missed with that skeleton.
That's OK you would have passed my specimen for weight
and MB you missed a 300$ tax credit then,

Cattail feed beaver can grow because off all the starch they take in over the winter is what I found in a swamp I trapped in years back.
