Grown nutria on land will hold their ground against you. When they decide to come at you, be advised, they do not bluff. Retreat or get bit.

Or how about knocking them into center field with a baseball bat..?

When I was much younger, I used to have a neat mahogany 2x2 about 40 inches long that I carried in my car. It was partially turned, sanded, and glazed, with leather wrap on the turned part. I sent a few land crossing, winter muskrats on their way with it, maybe not to center field but out past 2nd base a bit. But a nute is a lot bigger so maybe only back to the pitcher's mound wit such a whack...

‘Peeler and I used to go after them in sugar beet fields during cold snaps. Seems like they were a lot more active during the day during sub freezing temps. Our weapon of choice was a 24 inch ax handle. I smacked one out of the air as it was flying towards my privates one time. Glad I didn’t miss!!

Maybe they should call nutria "nutters" instead.

That's truly a classic tale! That would have made a wild video...
