They have been having issues with the mallard 2s.The insulator 3s from La Crosse footwear are a good option if you don’t mind 15 pounds of waders. The dans only weigh 9 pounds but it takes a lot of beaver to buy a pair.

I buy and use Hodgeman's, the model with the heavy canvas liner and OUTSIDE as well. Very durable, and you can special order a custom fit.

I use the hip waders from Lacrosse.

They ripped (the stupid Unnecessary knee part, Which-creates-a-liability-that-is-not-needed, that they somehow 'weld' onto (only) a few of their models) three years in a row.... and Each of those three years they replaced them in about a week, paying shipping in every case, Both ways (both ways!).

I say.... they earned my business.

I have these now: https://www.lacrossefootwear.com/men/work/hip-boots/trapline-hip-32-forest-green.html

I used to have the "Premium hip" which are the same boot I think minus the insulation which you don't need, it's just nice. Wear some socks, you don't need the insulation if you wanted to save money, as I mentioned I've had both with and without.

To recap:
1.) Yes Lacrosse
2.) If you get a model with that stupid knee pad, it might well rip on the seam but so long as you catch it within one year, I've found personally they have made-it-right, and done it very well. The replacement pair I have now is on its second year, no rips yet but PM me sometime if you want an update as spring approaches.

My problem is finding a size that fit me without making me look like a 3 yo wearing grandpa's waders. If I get a pair that are the right shoe size, I end up with an extra 6-8" of leg making it tough to get through the cattails and such. It always seems that the first place they begin to leak is in one the folds or it's easier to catch on something.

Our Farm & Fleet carried Hodgeman and Northerner boots when was a MUCH younger man. They also carried Oneida Victor traps. Large quantity- decent prices
