It’s been colder here and surly we had more snow in the past, a lot more snow it’s just hype. They cover their rears with statements like extreme heat and cold are the signs of climate change they can’t lose. When we were getting hammered the MSM focused way more on what the East coast was going to get because it impacted more of their believers.

Although the potential and conditions were lining up for some really nasty weather effects, other than the cold and constant wind, nothing really bad materialized.
We had a weatherman, in Florida, that really good and honest and explained things really well... he once explained the "100 year storm" statement. He explained that statement didn't mean there would be such a storm every 100 years, that that is what had been calculated and the worst in a hundred years had been such. He said, you could have such a storm every year for 5 years and such a storm was not relegated to only happening every 100 years.
I think I explained that correctly. Now we can get ready for a 100 year flood. (Tongue in cheek)
Garry- Pretty much. They're freak events. Closest thing I have seen is the flood several years ago when half of WV got washed away. Anyone that lives in low lying areas are probably familiar with the various floodplain maps if they're forced to by flood insurance or tried to build anywhere near a creek . I archery hunted in a W VA county that was hit with devastating floods in the Election Day flood of 1985 . It was localized to about 3 counties only .But to those 3 counties it was a storm of a lifetime .When a heavy rain cloud can not push it's way over those steep sided mountains the deep valleys funnel the water downstream in a fast rising way .Before you even have time to think about it you are powerless to react .Even now if you know what it was like before the flood happen you can see how much rock and dirt was removed by the raging water

Glad they got their power back. Not weather you want to be without power in.My wife just talked to our son about 20 min. ago(she works for the power company also) he said its CRAZY in Buffalo.Snow is so bad the crews cant get in to do repairs.Supposed to get another foot of snow tonight into tomorrow. Not a good situation.

All I know is it got cold here and if it hadn’t been for the wind I might have enjoyed it, lol. Yea,,but you think 50 is cold.Pretty sure the folks in Buffalo would go for 50 degree weather right now.
