On average, a new truck battery lasts about five years.

^^^^^ Yes, Interstate batteries are what I use. I've had them last seven to ten years in a place that has sub zero temperature spells at least once a winter. I am not using these batteries during the winter, and I do disconnect the negative cable for winter storage

About five years. Pays to shop around and read ConsumerReports. Lots of batteries are made by the same manufacturer and priced differently. I always get a better battery than the original.
Don’t know why this happens but if you have several vehicles, two or more will need a battery at the same time.

first clean your battery terminals. You can get your batteries tested for free and it will tell you how strong your battery is. Check you acid levels by removing caps.3 years on a batteries is a pretty short life span. Heat can kill a battery worse than cold. If you can go to Costco and buy their interstate battery. Cheap as you will get and good quality.

Is that correct?

the batteries I buy have a 3 year warranty , 2 years and 40ish weeks seems to be the life span
what brand does make a difference , whatever the warranty is that is about when you can expect it to fail , if you do better than the warranty by more than 6 months your doing well.
go out and turn on your headlights for 15 minutes set a timer then start your car if it doesn't start your ready for a battery.
I always seem to buy batteries late December early January so I hit the coldest weeks of the year

Battery maintenance is needed over time the batteries in my skidder were bought in 2002. Still work like new and it sits for long periods of time in 15 to 30 below. What do you call battery maintenance?
