In the years that I trap in winter,5 days a week for 3 months I will lose 20 lbs.
I dont change my diet,I just wind up eating less because I dont eat for something to do between meals, and I am on the go for 5-6 hours a day on the line, and skinning a couple hours the other 2 days.
In the years I only trap 2 days a week for 3 months and 2-3 hours a day(like now) I dont lose any weight.
Its pretty simple-eat a bit less and be a bit more active.
No need for any special diets.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

You have to remember its not all about losing the spare tire, its the abdominal fat inside and the stuff clotting arteries from a poor diet that even relatively thin people or with just a pot belly, can be prone to heart disease and diabetes.

A person with type II diabetes can actually revers it with a diet change. The organ damage, eyes sight loss, foot numbness, hardening if the arteries will be permeant though.

Blood pressure can also be normalized, and no drugs needed.

Isn't this all just Genetic Predisposition and our parents' fault? grin

What makes the Keto Diet appealing to me is- a lot of what I enjoy eating makes the list ... not always the case with other diets- giving up bread and pasta is an exception but worth a try.

yup genetic , my ancestors farmed and fished for how many centuries and their bodies evolved to eat meals with fish , meat , dairy and some bread and potatoes and work all day.

if you compare a 1890 meal to today I bet you find 90% more sugar , sugar is in everything now.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

it has done very well for me. I started it a bout 11 months ago and little to no issues with change in eating a new way. As a result, I am now completely off metformen with an A1C of 5.2, average Blood sugar of 105, triglycerides went from 227 to 88 and no more lasix to control the swelling in my legs. Have dropped 87 pounds and 6 inches in my waistline. Have never felt better. It takes a commitment to your health. As mentioned by others, you need toalter the fiber in your diet. I get mine from complex carbs like steel cut oats, black beans, asparagus, broccoli and cauliflower. Have substituted almond flour or xantham gum in the place of flour in several recipes and eat a fair amount of walnuts, peanuts, and pecans. I target about 20-25 net carbs or less on a daily basis. Read every food label, and stick to it and I think you will be happy. I love sugar, so the first couple months were tough. Had to make a decision between onset of diabetes or sugar and lot so carbs. The choice was relatively simple for me.

Life is short, tomorrow is promised to none of us. Make the best of every day you have

I have been 15-35 lbs. overweight for about 20 years now, but am active and do alot of exercise and eat a lot of good food but just too much food and at not good times during the day.
I had an appointment with my sleep apneia doctor and we discussed weight activity etc. She made this comment to me. "I DON'T KNOW ANYONE WHO CAN OUT RUN OR WORK THEIR FORK!!"
