Stop doing anything that ends in ing. For example, smoking, chewing, drinking, gambling, trapping, and womanizing. The one exception is working. I think I'll stick to being poor.

I no longer need to save money.That was important at one time but definitely not now.i dont scrimp on anything.I am reaping the rewards now.
For the last 11 years or so I am in the spending mode.I dont owe anything,and own at least 3 of everything. Its enjoyment time now-time to spend it up whenever and wherever..

Wood heat, use the wood stove for cooking as much as u can. Summer garden .can, dehydrate fmenu. . We buy hay of the fields for our animals. Goat for cheese milk and some chickens for eggs. I'll eat most any thing that crawls. So coon, Rat, beaver and bobcat are all on the menue.

I've saved insane amounts of money during my life fixing everything myself.

Plus due to skills I have acquired over the years makes me in high demand for nice gravy side jobs that pay very well.

One should concentrate as much on increasing income as saving money. Can you pick up more hours at work, can you take a second job, can you move up at your current job, are there better jobs available, do you need some training to move into a better job. You will never save yourself into wealth.

A old guy told me: watch your pennies, nickels and dimes will take care of thereselves.

Accept as much overtime as you can stand, if available, brown bag your lunch, don't get hooked on scratching, (lottery tickets), or any other vice.

had one of those guys buy a rifle from me , he is working me down on price , hemming and hawing guy is probably 80 , when I tell him that is as low as I can go he says ok and pulls out a hand full of 100s and peals me off the cost.

Don't worry about keeping up with anyone.
We burn wood to heat the house. Outdoor wood burner. Keep the house at 70 when we are up.
Get all the wood from our own property.
Probably save 1500 or so a year.
We maybe eat beef 5 times a year. Mostly eat venison, pork and fish. Usually get 4-5 deer. Probably have 80 lbs of fish in freezer.
We make all of our own venison sausage. Price to get made is ridiculous.
Big garden and freeze for winter use.
Make my own liquor. Have mostly given up beer.
We bring our own lunches in to work. Don't buy coffee from drive in places.
Rarely go out to eat. 10 times a year maybe. We enjoy cooking. Even have a wood fired pizza oven.

Maybe if you're chasing antlers. All of my life I've hunted deer and the most I ever spent (until this year) was the cost of a license and a box of slugs.

Now I have a few $20 trail cameras I bought used and a deer feeder I bought new. I buy one bag of corn a month.

If you count the cost of the deer feeder and cameras, which are one time purchases... and the corn and slugs and batteries... I spent $250 on deer hunting this year. That would buy me 50lbs of 80/20 ground beef. Next year, since I won't have to buy a feeder or cameras, my cost to hunt deer will be under $100, or 20lbs of ground beef. (I need no license since I only hunt my own property and my state doesn't have deer tags.)

I don’t save. I just quit worrying about it ! LoL! Just dont see what good it is to save ? I have known people who saved for retirement for their whole life. Retired. Died 3 weeks latter? So why bother saving? Whatever is going to happen is going to happen. We cant change that. So why not just be happy?? I know I am going to be setting traps till I fall over dead out here. I have excepted this. So when I want something I just get it. Bitcoin. Stockmarket. 401K. All seem like a joke to me. Live life. Have fun.
