Yes, the urban coyote changes are mostly behavioral, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some physiological change as well over time. Perhaps a better example is the difference between a Montana coyote and a Minnesota coyote. There is a define physical difference. Is it adaptation or evolution?

Simplified, evolution is adaption over the course of many generations. Its how mother nature works. If you are looking for things that just go "poof" and materialize on a Wednesday afternoon, then you'll have to look in the direction of religions. They have books, where miracles happen all the time.

Nature allows some creatures to specifically evolve in order for that species to adapt to their environment, survival, or population. Monitor Lizards are a prime example as are many others. :-)
