If I have a need for a lot of holes, I am usually panfishing and I break out my 5" auger. I bet I can get 100 holes in 24" of ice with that bit.

A couple ARTIC tip-ups... Made in Wisconsin. Store them flat, not standing up in a pail so the oil doesn't leaks out.

Also a couple Mercury switch lights to clamp on if he night fishes, so he can see when they "flag up"!

I have had an ION auger for years and have never had a problem with it. Saying that if I was to do it again I would probably get the adaptor for a cordless drill. I think clam makes the best ice shanties
