I just spent the day with a guy who lived in Armenia until his teens, then Russia, then Ukraine, now the USA. He's married to a Ukrainian lady.

If you aren't aware of it, Armenians are probably the second most persecuted people on the face of the earth.

After listening to this guys perspective I have come to realize that we Americans (and Europeans) really have no idea what this conflict us all about. And we should definitely not be contributing to the continued death and destruction just to satisfy our egos and the profits for western arms producers.

So we should back off and let Russia take back her naughty child?

Well,,,,,,, Europe and Eurasia having been fighting like cats and dogs over about anything and everything for the last 1700 years or so; about, land, or religion, or one group getting mad because the the other side killed their favorite arch duke, or et al............. I could go on and on.
And we, as mostly transplanted Europeans, distant cousins, have got sucked into their wars twice. Once in 1918 and once in 1941.
And then don't forget the Cold War that lasted from the end of WWll till 1990.
And it looks like they're working overtime to try and suck us into another one and the military industrial complex gets to ride along in the back seat.

So Waggler, you know something we don't know? What is it?

I guess I was just trying to say we should stay out of it. We all have opinions, but if we haven't lived it we really don't have a dog in the fight.
It was impressed on me today that this is really complex and I don't think we can really understand it.
It just seems wrong that we are enabling the deaths of thousands of people for no good reason; I don't consider profits, or pride, or vengeance good reasons.

Your like the wimpy kid in the playground watching the big fat bully beating up the scrawney little kid and taking his lunch money.

Sometimes to understand complicated things you need to simplify. I think Boco nailed it.

So delusional....Beaverpeeler, I hope when Portland empties out of the crazies after the nukes start flying, you can convince them "complicated things just need to be simplified" and I'm sure they'll understand and won't overrun your place and eat everything you have. Boco's sort of a special case, no one is going to overrun his place in the boreal sticks so he can still walk around sticking out his chest, talking to himself about how great Empire is (or was)...

Most people here have no clue what is really happening there, but you'll never convince them of that.

So how are you involved?
Are you going to send your son or grandson, or are you just as willing to fight to the last Ukrainian as Shotgun Joe is.

I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. O Lord please don't let me be misunderstood.

Canadians are involved-we always are-that is a good thing. We have been sending money and armaments since the beginning. As has your country. But lots on here dont support their own country helping fight the bully.-they are obviously commie sympathisers.
And I am a Canadian and as such I support the cause. You wont hear me cheerleading the bully thats for sure.
