How come we don't see this in Alaska? They don't fight paw to face here.....? Lots of #1 longsprings used here for marten and mink for one thing which if course are illegal in Canada. If using 120’s is the set vertical or horizontal? How high off the ground? Are they trapping along salmon streams where the bears are thick Etc How many juvenile bears are still out in November in Interior AK vs Southern BC. BC Griz have been placed on a pedestal so they’re under the microscope I suppose especially in southern BC.

Wouldn't the bear have to have the trap on his foot for a extended point of time to decrease the blood flow enough to cause him to lose part of his foot. I'm not sure what traps they are using for Martin but I don't see them holding a grizzly for more than a few seconds.
First we removed the mountain lion, wolf and grizzly to protect humans and livestock now they will remove the humans and livestock to protect the predators....... A friend of mine was on a guided hunt in MT. The guide told him gun shots are like a dinner bell to a grizzly. He asked the guide if they were allowed to shoot the bear if he attacked? He was told if you do shoot one you'd better have injuries that you were mauled by the bear before you shot it.
Most in this country have things people in other countries only dream about. Yet, they want America to be more like those other countries.

We have stand ur ground laws here in KS if I tell the grizzly he's making me feel threatened and he comes closer I'm free to use deadly force If this is truly an issue which I'm cautious to believe I would think the maximum thing needed would be to anchor traps secure enough the bear pulls out and doesn't leave with trap on the foot. No Martin trap is holding a grizzly.
