Had a dz of those in the late 90s ? They. Were ahead of thier time. Little hard to bed in red clay till you got used to them. The spring action on the bottom like a pair of scissors was what I called ahead of its time. For that trap at that time

When I started trapping in WNY there weren't any coyotes to speak of. My first were caught in 1 1/2 Vic's. When I first targeted them I set 1 3/4 Vic's. After that I converted to 450 MB's for my all around land trap. I have just recently lighten the pan tension on some 550's for my land line. I target reds and skunks in dirt hole, flat and post sets. For me yotes are mostly a by-catch.

Bridger #2s and Montana #2 and 3s. Still use those but the no-bs and bridger dogless go out first. The MB traps just dont fit my style. Sold the 650s but still have a couple 550s.

Maybe I'm weird but I like modified Bridgers better than MBs.

Another vote for the Sterling MJ600 here. They are all I run for yotes with the exception of a few MBs. The MBs get placed in questionable spots like worried about theft or run overs.

Wolfers and north woods #2. If they are stolen, run over, or planted when the anhydrous comes through I wont need a loan from the bank to keep trapping. Never had a good experience with monts. Of any kind.

I was trapping fox with mostly Blake & Lamb 1 1/2 coils before coyotes moved in. So upped some to 1 3/4 victors when coyotes came on. if you never used the victory professional 1 3/4 stock from the box. Then you probably never had a coyote eat one take it apart.
Then I got hold of a few #2 Bridger's tricked them out and like them. But got a deal on a pickup load of 1 3/4 four coiled Northwoods from very good coyote trapper. I'm really not sure now which I have more of the #2 Bridger's or 1 3/4 Northwoods but I have more than I need. I tend to grab the 1 3/4s where think I might get a fox or coon or trap stole before hang coyote. Put the #2s where I've caught coyotes in past or probably high chance they come first. I'm not hard core so don't even have any of the other traps you mentioned.

Northwoods #2 although I primarily used Northwoods 1.75's for fox when there wasn't many coyotes around but managed to picked up a few coyotes in them. Back then coyotes where so rare that if you caught one you got your picture in the local paper.
