If there are more around you might have a hot spot there now.

Mac It sure smells a lot. I didn't know they were that skunky. Pretty sure the whole county can smell it. Wife isn't too excited about me skinning in the basement.

Congratulations on your first. I still remember my first red caught in 1968 in the snow using a grouse carcass for bait. It was the first of many just as I'm sure yours will be.

I love the smell of fox pee in the morning....

Excellent !...Did you remake the set ? Yes I did. And I had to make sure it was a fox, it smelled so much like skunk. I'll be really curious to see what that set produces now. We have one warm day, then two zeroish nights, followed by a real warm up coming.

Great job! First one is always the hardest. Like others I find that once a set connects with a fox it’s very likely to catch another, and another, and another…. I have one set out this season that has caught 5 red fox and one grey, another set has caught 4 reds and 3 greys. Other sets in the same locations, no action. I have another set literally 6 feet from the set that caught 5 reds and a grey, the second set has caught zero fur. Just goes to show you how important location is. 6 feet might as well be a mile in some cases.
