Satellites can read license plates from 22,000 miles up. What could a balloon do that a satellite couldn't. It's a safe bet that any nation with "eye in the sky" tech already knew exactly how many ICBM silos we had and their exact locations.

Our land-based ICBM force total number of missiles (silos) is already known by by treaty. It used to be 1,054 for a long time (54 Titans, 550 Minuteman III, 450 Minuteman II) and then Minuteman II were retired by treaty (Titans were retired because they old and liquid fueled). Now the U.S. has 600 land-based ICBM-- 550 Minuteman III (Malmstrom, Minot, and Warren Air Force Bases) and 50 Peacekeepers also at Warren. Its not "rocket science" wink...

How can this be???

"Race for the wreckage: Fears China may reach spy balloon wreckage ahead of the US Navy salvage vessel that may not be on the scene for DAYS - as it lands in 47ft of water six miles off the coast of South Carolina".

I'm totally lost on this one... again...

I dont believe for a minute that it is a spy balloon.
Most likely a test of a future weapon delivery system for either bioweapon or dirty nuke.

I agree, now N Korea knows they do not need a intercontinental ballistic missile delivery system.

I'd shoot the next one down before it leaves China.
Better yet they should turn that James Webb telescope around 180 degrees, point it at the sun and fry the balloon before it leaves china.
Just like when we were kids frying ants with a magnifying glass.

They used a missile? $60000.00 to shoot down a balloon? Were knitting needles not available? What a incredible waste of money.

The year; 2081.

Two ragged unkept nuclear survivors claw out of their underground bunker to find the heat bearable.
"How'd all this even happen Boris?" asks one them to another they.
"They said it was a balloon, Gretchen. High up, in the sky, up there" points the they to the them.

"A balloon, huh?"
"Yep, a balloon."

Read an article this morning that said it had electric motors and propellers to steer it. Wonder why you cant see them in the pictures? Are the pictures photoshopped or was it just put in the jet stream and allowed to drift? Sure seems like we are being handed a lot of misinformation. Again.

Wouldn't that be U.S waters, where China would not be allowed?
Never mind.....stupid question.

In retaliation for blowing up the balloon, this just in from Chinese spokespersons:
China will NOT be buying fur this year. Again.

Several US navy ships are onsite and have been since before it hit the coast. If the salvage crew is out of Norfolk they will be there today if they weren’t on site to start with. Check out Marine Traffic ap.

It had little sails hanging below it and could be turned like a sail boat to steer it like a rudder. Probably via satellites!!

Obviously President F M UP wanted the wreckage in the Ocean so they could not retrieve it as per his Bosses Orders which would be XI!!!
