Looks good. Right now I am not even trying. Its tough to try and set a trap in peanut butter. That and I have a rotten cold that is putting the breaks on me. Good to see that you are picking up my slack grin

I tried telling my son that and he said I’ll catch it before the rain…and he did, lol. He sees a track and puts a set in right then. He’ll carry traps around with him even when he’s done checking and doing other work. His boss and the owner doesn’t care cause he’s catching. The owner was riding with him the other day and he saw a fresh set and jumped out and put a set in. He called on the way to work saying he really hopes he catches something with the owner down to quail hunt. 15 minutes later he’s FaceTiming me with another cat. He couldn’t wait to get back and show it off, lol. I’ve taken that philosophy, if I’ve got a few days before a rain, I’ll set a wash with fresh tracks all day long. With the storms we’ve been getting it ain’t gonna matter if it’s in a wash or high ground…it’s getting flooded out.

Don't set where water is going run over the trap, that sand is going to get more rain, etc, etc. You nuts need to try to operate in red clay during the monsoon season.

I should of hooked you up with some nutria meat for bait, think im setting a record on them this year and buzzards won't even eat them, figure them half starved to death pulp wood coyotes be glad to get anything, lol.

... it’s all mud here now lol ... rain setting in while checking empty traps other than a few coon that made themselves heavy enough to get caught lol

... supposed to rain all night and some more tomorrow... I’ll get some more killed before it’s all said and done

... I’ll be digging buckets of dry dirt from under bridges in order to do it though looks like

Rain seperates the men from the boys on the trapline, why most of the pictures you see are blue skie's and dry ground, lol.

club i use to trap we rode around side ways every year, solid red clay, told buddy after two years of that slop bucket if it's like this next year we're heading for the hills where it's rocky and sandy, sure enough next year it was pouring down rain the whole week we trapped so i headed to the gov. woods, least they put gravel on the roads so you can get around.

First time me and my brother ever went after coyotes, it rained every single day. It was cold and miserable, but we still killed more than I thought we would. Rain builds character.

That’s some soggy weather you gotta deal with. Reckon the predators eat and move on rainy nights though. No doubt you’ll figure ‘em out.

Growing up and honing my trapping skills in Michigan, where it moisturizes everything 4 days out of 7, taught me well and has allowed me to keep on 'em here in the land of drought (until I show up).
Didn't the old time rain maker charge for these kinds of services?

Ranch manager told me yesterday that the three out of state "crews" that trapped here in the years before I came aboard never went out when it got soggy.
I drug in 1 coyote and 2 bobcats yesterday and told 'em.... renegades can run. But they can't hide.

Blessings!
Mark
