Ha! Well, I can kind of see how the thought process was going. Certainly not unheard of for buyers to do things like that. Well, hopefully you got some freezer space now.

Looks like the Groenwold buyer didn't make it to the Missouri or Illinois sales. He must have got bad sick. Illinois fur is a lot better than a southern state like AR

I don't think $2 is enough of a difference, but I like the option of having put up fur to send to FHA if you don't get the local price you are wanting.

I think folks will be pleasantly surprised at what beaver will do at FHA in March. Especially the big sizes.

Lol that’s a diabolical plan Pretty simple for groenwold, go spend a little in Arkansas to get a super high average price on beaver to get everyone excited for beaver trapping, then buy a bunch of beaver for super cheap on their new 'beaver routes' after the state sales and FHA pickup has passed. SOP!

Think most were 25-50 carcass, top put up(2) brought 100 they had spots front and back and were 40" . Not much of a secret. Things mostly brought market value, unless you hit the bidding war at the two Arkansas sales the state auctions results posted are pretty much what buyers are willing to pay.
Thank you for the info. Maybe western cats will advance enough to push commercial cats higher. Plan to run a land line this upcoming season since the beaver population is low in my community at present.

Commercial cats sold well at the June FHA sale.
