Got a chance to buy a Ruger #1. Looks to be an improvement over 243?

I've taken well over 100 big game animals and predators in North America with this caliber, from Brown bears to moose, from coyotes to wolves. I think it one of the best calibers in existence. Just wish it wasn't so loud. I think you'll enjoy it Danny.

That is one gun I always thought I wanted just never bought. Small world that it is. I meet the guy they say developed and wildcated the load that became the standard for 25-06. At least that is what his son told me. Dad even showed me a letter he had gotten from the then Prince of Iran, who became Shaw of Iran. How he had used then experimental 25-06 loads he had sent him while on safari in Africa. How flat they shot and what he had shot with them. Thanked him for sending them for him to try really like them. He didn't tell me how that deal got set up back in the day?? for sure wasn't online.. Letter was Interesting bit of history though I was able to see first hand.

This is one of the calibers I can't keep in stock here at the store. Everyone loves it here in Western Colorado. Very flat shooting, and takes many elk every year here in the area. Locals use it. Lot of out of state guys think you need a huge caliber to take elk, but you really don't. You just need good shot placement. If I can take an elk with an arrow, what makes you think you need a 30-378 Weatherby?
Why do I carry 10mm? Because shooting twice is just silly.

Great long range coyote round, and deadly on large game as well...Hydrostatic shock, and favorable trajectory is its strength.
