Who’s done it and what has been your experience with it?

I’m just starting it and I will say I’ve been the kind of person that’s been able to eat what I want when I want but I’d like to lower my BP. I’ve never been a sweets guy so the idea I can eat the fatty foods is appealing to me.

I eat mostly a carnivore diet but I need some added carbs for energy in this cold weather. I eat mostly moose, fish, geese, chicken, eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese.
I eat my homemade Eskimo fry bread and maple syrup for extra carbs when needed.

You can and should eat all the animal fat you want as long as your not eating alot of carbs, in fact its very healthy for you to do so. You can add vegies if you want you wont raise your BP, as long as its not potatoes or other starchy vegies or rice. Cabbage is very good for you.

Most of the vitamin's in vegies are locked and unavailable but absorbable when they are in in animal proteins and fats.

Stay away from grains and vegie oils and your blood pressure will go back to normal and no heart problems or diabetes.

Your welcome. Good luck. I lowered mine by changing my diet.

As yukon says, you don't need to be totally carnivore, just low carb. To many carbs at the wrong time will spike blood sugar numbers and blood pressure. I'd say try to keep the carbs to under 70-80 grams per day max if you get the urge.

Some plant fats are healthy. Olive oil is one. Avocados are another. Grain and potato's should be avoided. Radish's are a healthy root. Tomato's, broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, lettuce, cabbage spinach, sauerkraut, are all good. Watch out for processed meat. some of it has a lot of unhealthy additives. Potassium chloride, (salt substitute) mixed half and half with salt gives you a salt taste and replaces the potassium and salt you lose from increased urination.

70-80 is fine for a long term maintenance plan but for losing weight, you need to go into ketosis, which means 0-20 carbs per day and none of them from sugar really.

Add some vigorous exercise, lots of water and add a tablespoon of fiber to all your drinks and whatever you can add it to.

Been on a nutrition diet for some time. If my nutritionist taught me anything, fiber is the game changer. It helps your body digest carbs smoother without the spike. I get 12-15 tbsps a day of oat fiber.

side note: it does NOT make you poop more.

I've been on it for 5 or 6 years now. Its a game changer. That Dr Chaffee has a lot of great information. I never had a BP problem but a year into carnivore my BP was perfect for someone half my age.

Lots of information about fiber if you are willing to look. Dont worry about fiber and stay away from carbs and you will be healthier. A lot healthier. Do some research if you havent already and you will be convinced. More and more doctors are starting to go in this direction.

If cancer is a concern, look into Dr Seyfried. Again the answer is a very low or better yet a zero carb diet.

Doc told me that meat is OK but should be limited as to much protein is bad for the brain.

I have been Diabetic since the age of 5. Potatoes will help raise Blood Sugar. I make my mashed Potatoes with Cauliflower and I use Yogurt as well. Add some diced Green Onions and they are not bad and help keep your Blood Sugar under control. Then lots of exercise!!!

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

I'm not a food nutritionist but eating nothing but red meat is no good for ya. You have to eat alittle bit of everything to be healthy. L8ke chicken and veggies, soup, pasta and some meat for protein or get it from plant.

My primary care DR is a California immigrant vegetarian. We don't discus healthy eating. I have a lot of fun talking about trapping with her. She gets to looking like she just sucked on a lemon.

Guss I avoid any grain. Feel a lot better. Low BP low blood sugar too.

You're definitely not.

Eggs, pork, chicken, beef, wild game, all are proteins. Down through history, many cultures have survived on almost nothing but protein. They were healthy and lived long. Nobody needs pasta to be healthy. Nobody.
