I know. They still need managed but if you aren’t getting any money for the work involved with the pelts, and you don’t want any tanned for your own collection…what do you do with them?
But THIS is ridiculous. And bad public image if it was a trapper. But i can’t imagine it would be

What do you do with them?

You dispose of them on private property with permission AND out of public view.

But, for some people...this must be too difficult to do. So they dump them on public ROW in public view. Dam sorry slobs!

I have seen fly bait (Golden Malrin) use to kill coons. Was mixed with Root Beer tho, Something sweet to drink is all that matters I'm sure.
It kills them real fast, they don't make it much further than 10 yards and they are done.

As far as why kill them that way. Its quick, it can be done without spending much time, it will kill more than one at a time, usually the whole family is taken out at one time, its quiet and it doesn't require any other items other than a bowl to do it.
Only down side is you gotta get rid of the bodies. Unless it out in the sweet corn patch or some other place that you don't care if there are dead coons laying around.

as far as getting rid of the bodies just leave one of them along the side of the road and another about 2-3 miles down the road and nobody would ever think a thing.

Sounds very indiscriminate to me.
Regardless some people are just pigs and dump stuff where the public can see it.
Stuff like that reflects bad on fur harvesters even if it was someone else responsible.

If they were trapped privately, you’d think they’d have a dump site on the property.

Just for the record, it's also illegal to use fly bait that way.

People need to remember that animals keep reproducing weather or not hunting and trapping stops!
The Netherlands burn/bury over 10,000 muskrats every year protecting the dikes.
Never see that fact getting the attention of these 30 coon !
It's all the WOKE CROWD that gets people emotional and then get them to follow their agenda.

This reminds me-I need to clean out the bait shed before it gets warm out.
I will take a few sleigh loads of carcasses out to the trapline to increase the carrying capacity of the land for marten especially.
