Maddog47 said it like it was. I spent 70 & 71 in the northern 1/4 of VN. The Hmong were some fierce fighters.
They fought with a passion, and we spent plenty of time in the field with them. They were ignored and ostracized by the USA.
Would I go back? Only to cover my buddies back or walk Maddog47s slack!

You calling me out? Might as well call me a REMF.

You know what you know just what you can go do to yourself.

I stand by my statement. Cowards run when called upon. Had they any guts they could've stood and fought. Whether that be in the courts, as an objector conscientious or otherwise but no they cut and run when things got even slightly uncomfortable.

And I have no use for a coward of any type.

Mohammed Ali just said no. That took courage IMO. I think those that refused and went to Canada had a lot of different reasons for refusing. Jane Fonda is one I call a traitor. When I was young I thought the men who went to Canada were too. After the way the government just quit that war, just quit in the middle east, gave the enemy billions in military equipment, would not let the soldiers just take care of business, let the folks that were our "enemy" have what we supposedly were there to stop, I am against forcing people into the military.

If its not worth declaring war over, not worth destroying the country posing a threat, I say we ought not get involved. Its about wealthy people getting wealthier . Not U.S. sovereignty.

I still say Saudi Arabia is our enemy. The money for 911 came from the Saud royal family. Bush Jr is another traitor.

Ali has my respect, he fought his position.

Fonda committed treason waging war against her nation and should pay the penalty.

While those who fled may have been correct in seeing the hypocrisy by not fighting here or there they condemned others to have to go.

Wow. Somebody seems to have a real complex

#1 Rear Eschelon does not exist in peacetime. Even if it did it is honorable duty, not worthy of profanity.

#2 Yeah I know what I can do to myself. I do it all the time. Thanks for your support.

#3 Shooting American citizens that have not been convicted of anything, let alone a crime without the death penalty, is a bit UnAmerican. and absolutely criminal.

Oh frig. I assumed you understood due process.

Shot after a proper trial of course. Again if the cowards had any balls they would've had their day in court.

You're taking this kind of personal for some reason.

And FYI, we lost guys in peacetime every year. Keeping the peace isn't always a cushy desk job. I can recall at least half a dozen during my time.

Quite honestly for you to float that out tells me all I need to know.

A. You are not a veteran

Or

B. You are the PX hero because no veteran of my acquaintance makes such a distinction unless something else is going on.

Goes double for me Roy. You are my hero. Nothing but respect for you and all you did while wearing the uniform and what you have done for trapping.

The soldiers that fought that war did so with one hand tied behind their backs. I blame Johnson and Nixon for losing that war. A war under Biden would be similar.
The war in Iraq was fought to win and we did in short order.

Draft Dodging is a bit different from desertion. I ain,'t no lawyer but, the penalty is a bit different from violating an oath and refusing to take it.

At some point in the distant past I was forced into a formation and some guy in a green suit said. "None of you need to be here. You can do two years in prison if you would rather."

I don't remember him mentioning being shot.

I have to admit I like green better than stripes.

I can live with whatever punishment is handed down but I stand by my opinion.

I think Biden's crack head baby boy needs to get into the fight first

My father fought in Vietnam in 67-68. Army combat engineer. He has 1000s of slides of the war. I know for a fact he would go back. All 3 of his sons would follow!
