My hand is up. I thought high school was a waste of time. The teachers liked parrots. Repeat word for word what the teacher or text book said and get an A+. Say something like you dont believe hunters exterminated mastodons with a sharp rock tied to a stick and get an F.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

I had highschool teachers that thought I should go to college be a teacher. Actually was offered a small scholarship to go run for local college. Not sure how that all works because I had just good enough grades to get my highschool diploma. So two weeks out of highschool I was working for a contractor building pole barns Didn't last long there I was to much of a snow flake. Went to work for different contractor building new homes. Did that 12 years until I went to the dark side became fire fighter. Burn things down for urban renewal. The end

I went to school in Oconto Falls Wisconsin. Most of my Teachers were Farmers or Hunters or Both. A bunch of us kids in Shop Class worked for the shop Teacher building sheds in the Summer. I even Baled hay for a lotof the Teachers. I guess small country schools were different back then. I even had the Principal let me bring my Deer Rifle to school to have it drilled for a scope. He just had me bring it straight to the Office where he kept it until shop Class then he brought it down to me. I guess School was different in small town USA back then.
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

I had a high school guidance counselor try to talk me out of joining the military to pursue other options. I'd never applied myself to anything other than girls and partying so I don't know what options he may have had in mind. My grades were worse than terrible.
I did enlist in the military and have zero regrets for doing so but I do have many regrets for squandering opportunities that may have come my way had I applied myself to something other than immediate gratification.

I never finished high school. Left home and went to work instead. High school was, for me, a waste of time. Later, got a couple of college degrees, but getting in to college without a high school diploma or a GED was a hassle. Undergraduate school wasn't very different from high school.

I graduated but had too many relatives working Underground Coal Miming so went back to WV and went to work. Then the Military then back to Coal Mining. Then during the Odummy years I went back to College and did my Degree and went back to the CoalMine as a Certified Shot Blaster. Now I still love Blasting when it is needed!!

Quit high school 1959 married 1960 went to work doing many different things . Served a 4 year apprenticeship became a journeyman carpenter. Quit California in 1970 moved to Alaska building stuff and trapping. Still married, still building stuff and gave my line to a friend 5 years ago and trap through his eyes!
When one of my high school teachers gave a blue bird sticker on a required paper then wouldn’t show at open house so my Dad could meet her I was out of there against my parents wishes!
There is no way that I would ever have been able to spend another moment in school when freedom was out there! Absolutely no regrets..

I graduated high school on Friday and started work at a small coal preparation plant on Monday. I started college part time that fall while still working night shift. Later that winter the company I worked for went bankrupt and cheated us out of about 3 weeks pay. I applied for unemployment and was denied because I was honest on the app and stated I was only available to work afternoons and evenings due to college. I was lucky and got hired on as an intern for a local coal company where I was able to work mid night shift and complete my degree over the next 5 years. Been working as an electrical engineer for the last 30 years, but not in mining. I can also honestly say that High School nor College prepared me much for my field, but the intern work with real world experience was well worth it.

Most people I knew that dropped out of high school did so because of drugs and are now dead.
I'm happy for all that found a career and made well with their lives without high school.
I do recommend finishing high school and see what your options are then. Work force, trade school, college or military. You graduate at an average age of 18. So how much time did you really waste if you stick it till the end?

I passed a G.E. D. test to enter the Air Force. My only regret is not learning about the stock market 50 years ago. I always thought of it like gambling so never bothered to read any books about it..
