I'm truly sorry that ole boy passed and may he rest in peace. However I'm more concerned with our actual Vets who served, not acted. Just a reminder, March 29th is National Nam Vets Day. Go find one, play cards, listen, buy them supper and love on them. They are our hero's.

My uncle was wounded taking that bridge.

Your uncle is my hero. His name ? Needs to be known and remembered.

GT, it would be so cool if there was a connection with your Uncle and my Gpa. There's books wrote and a movie about that bridge. The Phantom 9 hung a sign that said your crossing the Rhine with dry feet thanks to the 9th.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Yes, it is always a possibility they knew each other. My uncle was an army engineer so I guess the reason his was at the bridge. He was hit with shrapnel which I believe was from a mortar. Some of the shrapnel stayed in his leg unto he died in 1980. The story goes the Germans were shelling the area and he crawled under a Jeep. A Sargent yelled for him to get out from under it since they were aiming to hit vehicles. The Sarge saved his life since the Jeep was eventually hit and destroyed.

Tom Sizemore had a look about him that made you believe that he was genuinely the person who he was portraying.
He did this without even uttering a word. Not many are able to pull that off in my opinion.
