About a week ago I talked to my mom on the phone, and it sounded like she was drunk, she was slurring her words. But she doesn't drink anymore. I asked her if she was drinking and she said she wasn't and asked why I thought that, and I said she was slurring.
Anyways, fast forward a few days and I saw her momentarily at work on Thursday, and she seemed fine.
Then last night I called her... and when talking with her on the phone she was slurring her words to the point I couldn't understand her... and she was having trouble making complete sentences. I tried to call my step dad at work, but couldn't get ahold of him, so drove over there.
She was in bad shape. Hands shaking to the point she couldn't light a cigarette, or take a drink. When she tried to walk, she'd fall down. And slurring so much I couldn't understand her... also unable to keep a train of thought long enough to finish a sentence.
Finally got ahold of Step Dad and he left work and took her to the hospital. I thought she'd either had, or was about to have, a stroke.
Since last night she's had 2 Cat scans and an MRI. They said they didn't find anything on the Cat scan, but as of now we've STILL not got the results of the MRI. A nurse came in tonight and said they want to run 2 more tests in the morning.
She's fighting tooth and nail to leave the hospital, but I think I have step dad convinced to make her stay, regardless.
So I'd just like to ask for prayers.... prayers that they find what's wrong, that it can be fixed, and that she stops fighting the doctors that are trying to help her. Also prayers for her husband, who is terrified, and her mother, who is way too old to be getting this upset.
