So there are two ice age bears. Did he say which one this is ? Arctodus[ of the Short Faced bears
Are you in glacial end moraine ? So he said black bear,I'm pretty sure he said before ice age, I quizzed him on cave bear and grizzly he didn't budge, said it was black bear and he had only seen one bigger than that.

Are you in glacial end moraine ?
Good question. The climate of mo does not seem conducive to long term preservation of bones. What sort of ground did you find it?
