Well, I also have laid down a perfect stalk on a Booner porky. More than once!
Just doing what I want now.

I was tracking a wolverine one year and spotted a dark porcupine on the far hillside. ditched the tracks and b lined for the "wolverine" Got up close and seen what it really was. I thought it was funny until I looked in the opposite direction and spotted the actual wolverine making its escape.

works both ways. A guy came to the hide and horn sale the other day. He was moose hunting with his young son and spotted a porky in the brush. Soon enough the porky was mauling him. The bear then turned on the screaming kid and the dad then killed it.

Does eating one count? Eaters anonymous.

One time, after a quick look, I stalked a pretty "blonde grizzly" for about 45 minutes before realizing that it was a porcupine.
Sure glad I did not have a guided hunter with me for that deal. That sort of stunt is not real good for a guide's reputation!
Pete So I'm not the only one. We spotted a "blonde grizzly" once from a Super Cub, and nearly had a "moose stall" while checking it out before we realized what it was.
