Last trap check of the year of what has been the poorest year in 20 yrs got to the last two sets a mile apart and picked up these two [Linked Image]
The darker one had recently had recently
Lost a battle his head was all bitten up nose ripped and he actually had lost an eye [Linked Image]
He also was missing a toe that was all healed up and when I skinned him out had what appeared to to be a torn leg muscle on one back leg
I have named him the hard luck and Im sure he will be turned into something special by my wife. Anyway a heck of a day and great way to end the season

That is a heck of a way to end the season! Congrats! That joker wanted a mate pretty bad! I feel you on the poor season. Hopefully next year will be better!

Good way to end the season! Glad you held that guy, the hook up looks a bit tentative! Wonder how the dude looks that he was tangling with. Might be dead somewhere.

Wolverine are tough critters! Nice getting a double on your last check. The first wolverine I picked up this season had a fresh cut across its left eye and a few other cuts on its face. Ended up picking up another male a week later about 2-3 miles away, figured the two of them had tangled with each causing the injuries to the one.

Small time possibly the other critter is dead but judging by the bite marks It really looks like a wolf clamped down on his head so Im thinking he probably was lucky to escape with his unfortunately we will never know

I am sure Hard Luck would be saying, you should see the other guy!
Maybe not as valuable but always liked the ones that have character.
Nice animals.

Yep, probably more likely. I'm sure they have disagreements over feeding rights from time to time. Cool catch.

I remember one year almost every male wolverine I caught was beaten up until I caught a big male with minor cuts. After that no more beaten up wolverine. I figure he just beat up every young male he bumped into
