They seed out before they wither up. I believe the bulbs can also divide They make a seed stem and pod before they whither in summer. Some bulbs also have a rhizome on them and spread from that like quack grass. When I have transplant some to start my own little patches. I always save the bulbs with the rhizome for transplanting and eat the others. Mac

We had a guy call.just a few minutes ago who wants 500 to 700 lbs a week but we can't do it. We can't physically dig that many on top of what he's already digging So is he making something out of them. No way a person can eat that many. He has a cannery in augusta wv. He uses them in sauces and condiments he makes and sells. He also sells them by thw bunch at high end farmers markets near DC. We ar3 on the ay now yo deliver his first round of the season

Whoever said ramps give ya ripe gas ..I disagree. I intentionally ate about a dozen last night at 1:30 am..when I got done washing ramps..so I'd have good bad gas when we we looked In the truck together... went on our 5 hr selling trip today and I didn't even get one little toot out of em I'm wondering if sautéing them takes the bite and fumes out of em?? I'm gonna eat some raw ones next trip and find out. Lol

No. He's the intended victim.lol I made my 300.00 for the day..i.met and sold 100 doz ramps to a lady that bought 100 doz on sunday. so I'm heading Sunday.. Her and her husband own a store and restaraunt and are selling ramp dinners for Friday and the got water more orders than they counted on.

Had 3 times what I normally sell today. I got there at 1030 and was sold out by 1230. I haven't counted yet but we're close to 2500.00. Am
  Probably over that.

Did some reading about ramps and west Virginia. Pretty interesting. We don't have ramps here but in the spring we have rocky mountain oysters. There are a few oyster festivals. Ya need aome ramps to eat with those things...and I know what they are.lol I'll send ya some ramps to eat with em..but I don't want any oysters to eat with my ramps.lol..I don't eat many ramps anyway.lol Jerry never eats em

Yotetrapper30...I'll get ahold of you when they get a.little bigger.
It's a little early but alot of people like the smaller.
Well get bigger ones as the season progresses. Ok. You don't need to clean mine... I don't want to eat them, I want to plant them! Do you plant them in woods or fields and let them naturaliz?
