I consider myself a Christian and I could probably right a longer and more accurate list of my flaws than anyone else if that answers your question. My knowledge of these faults made me realize that if there is a Holy God and Heaven after this earthly life (which I believe) then I could never get in with all these faults and that I needed the atonement given to me on the Cross. For the good of my Saviors cause I try to be a better representative but fail regularly. But I hope for his glory I'm doing some better. There are plenty of non Christians that are nicer, kinder and more giving than me but even they aren't good enough to enter into the perfect presence of Heaven based on their own deeds.

I'd bet you're functionally illiterate when it comes to the Bible and what is has to say. Most Roman Catholics are. I don't mean that a knock, just a statement of fact.

Honest to GOD maybe you need to look in the mirror because if you are the best God can find to represent him on T Man it is just sad cause you are a fry or two short. Before you get upset go back and read some of your post and be honest about it.

So I know more about the bible than you do,and my bible is bigger than your fake one, lol.

You know that works perfectly fine for me and I don't think any more or less of you. I don't know if we have ever met.
My main point is that all groups fail to police them selves. Yet expected something different of others. Then add to that impose their beliefs on others.
In simple terms lot goes back to the old saying. Keep your own house first.. Spend your time watching your own bobber. Don't worry about mine.

I didn't really know my grandmother she died when I was 12?? So not sure what her place was with religion. I do recall her more than once saying. The Lord helps them that help them selves. What I took from that. Was not steal or take from others. It was fix you're self before you try to fix others.

A lot of religious folks have convinced themselves that people that do not believe in their particular flavor of religion have no morals. They tend to assume that right off the bat, before engaging is any form of dialog. Happens all the time and not just on here. Its not exactly a great start IMHO. But then don't be surprised when folks that do not believe in your god are on the defensive from the start as we have heard this same old same old many times before. Ya see I like my steak, no matter how much a vegan will praise his tofu burger. As long as he does not try to make me eat that crap, we can get along just fine. I won't invite him to a BBQ and stay at my place at meal times. Simple as that . I don't give a hoot if he thinks my taste buds are defective.

Let's go Brandon

I can get along with anyone that doesn't push their ways on me. Maybe the problem is how we define be pushed.

Thank God I am no longer bound to the things I believed in grade school.

I also do know some Christians who look down on others in judgement, but they are few and far between, at least in my life. Fortunately they are not followers of Jesus Christ, they are followers of their own vain deceit. Jesus made it very clear he did not come to condemn people but to provide a way to a relationship with a loving and forgiving God.

I can’t tell you the religion of most of my closet friends because who/what they choose to pray to has nothing to do with me it’s that simple. But some bring up issues that let you know they have a commitment to honor for their religion but that’s as far as it goes. That triggers nothing in me it’s just a personal choice no need to try to change either one of our thinking patterns.

You don't have to be a christian, whatever that means to the individual, to be a good and moral person. If you follow the Golden rule your covered as far as I'm concerned.

I've read right here that Non Christians or followers of other ancient religions couldn't possibly get into "heaven" because they don't accept Jesus as their savior....It's statements like that that sound condenscending and righteous, and it grates....

Especially seeing how the bible has been changed over the centuries by those seeking power and obedience. I care not a lick, or even need to know, what religion you are, doesn't make you a good person....Like always...YMMV

I always thought it was because the "Word of God was sharper than any two edged sword." For the life of me I don't understand how someone would get mad at the words of a book they don't believe in. Maybe it's not the Christian judging but the non believer judging themselves and don't like what they see when comparing themselves to that book they don't believe in. Does the non believer experience conviction but just don't act on it?
