Tried rock salt last year on mine, put down what I would call a medium coating. Didn’t see where it made a difference.
I think a good covering of mulch seems to have a better impact on weeds.

I have two different beds. One is near my vegetable garden and the other is growing in my rasberry garden. I just use mowed lawn grass or leaves around my beds and don't worry about the weeds at all. The aspagas will outgrow the weeds anyway. Have you noticed how much grows in the road ditches without any care. I mark all my plants with some flagging during the harvest season so I can find the plants in my rasberry area.

57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

If you have deer you will have a knee deep hole the size of your bed. I now use bark mulch and round up. Mike

Try a hoe! You'd be surprised how much grass and weeds you can remove with one!
