These statistics do not apply to “mass shooting” sprees though. Mass shootings when categorized by race show that all are about equal as percent of population. Previous mental health issues are present in more than half. Most are men. Therefore if we lock all the men in mental institutions, problem solved. Or take away all the guns, problem solved.

Just conjecture on my part as they have yet to release the particulars yet but based upon location, Mahogany Studio, the known population and time of day, or night in this case, plus associated with a 16 year old's birthday party leads me away from the mental case political or societal motives and more towards a personal/familial bog standard killing or gang killing.

And those stats posted absolutely apply in those type killings.

BTW 16th birthday absolutely points towards Hispanic, particularly if it was a girl's birthday.

A quinceañera is a celebration of a Hispanic girl's 15th birthday, not her 16th.

It appears it was mostly black kids who got shot. One of them was the brother of the girl the party was being held for, and he was the school's star football player to had just committed to Jacksonville State University. Their mother was also shot twice but was still alive.

One account I read said that a witness said it started as an argument.
