Once again it's all about th senior citizen trapper. Ok baco yout the tough railroad guy trapper and can kill things easily with hands feet knife and stick. Plus ther is little reasion for the guy in the bush to need to defend himself. Now that 98 lb cute girl that just walked into a dead end alley in an unknown to her area with a few thugs falling her to rape and maybe kill her may just benefit from being armed. When I was in Canada , there were no locks on cabin doors.
Well stocked cabins , food fuel , and a way to stay warm.
Always understood it it was like that in case someone was lost , and needed a place to get out of the weather.
Survival mode was the thinking.
Civil people looked out for others.
Now the closer you got to civilization , the more uncivil people became!
Bet 90% of all shootings , mass or otherwise , are in very populated areas .
Any in rural areas, are, bet money, drug related.

As far as waving a gun in someone's face ?
Not a chance , if I stuck a gun in your face , there's a doggone good reason of survival , or self defense , and you'd be dead.
Guns aren't toys to be played with.
I carry and there's always a round in the chamber.
As long as I keep my finger off the trigger , it's not going off.
But if someone sticks a gun in my face , I sure don't want to waste my time cocking my gun.
