JP--It's a safety issue for me, my family and my livestock. I'm the last one that thinks we should ban anything, but they are gonners if they get on, or even near, my place.

Same goes for any aggressive dog.

I have a neighbor with two aggressive Cane Corsos (giant pit looking dogs). Currently fenced. I'm watching them like a serial killer.

I don’t have a good solution.

Unfortunately down here GENERALLY it's the white trash, methheads and homeboys that own them. Either neglected or taught to be mean.

You will be when your drug dealing neighbors get a pack of 4-6 of them and you can't even let your kids outside to play. No you are OK with it, but NIMBY!

I’ll say it, the problem was 4 Pit bulls together and they weren’t attacking each other. It was just a matter of time before they got tired of the ball.

I can't imagine 4 labs attacking and killing someone because they got bored chasing a ball.

I live in an area I don’t worry about my neighbors and what they have. We’re not crammed on top of each other here.

I have one solution. If a pit bull kills someone, the owner is held criminally liable and can do prison time. That should be the case with any dog. But, the majority of cases where death by dog is involved, pit bulls have the edge.

I think some people own them as a status symbol. Some say they are the #1 preferred dog among drug dealers.

That’s because labs are bred to retrieve. Pits were bred to be catch dogs. Let’em catch livestock and hogs, even each other. They are not bred to play with people. If you plan on amping them up you better have a plan to bring them back down.

You’re against a dog because of what it can do. Some of you guys are looney.

Based on it's history and compared to most other breeds, it's called common sense.

Beside what on the news on a personal experience note. We were at a hunting lodge the owners girl had a pit it was ok a few days untill it latched onto my cousins hind end/leg. It got a 9mm round to its head in their eating area. Thankfully between his thick bill fold clothing and crap in his other pocket damage was limited to small punctures and brusing. The dog owner had an additional about her dog getting it's brains leaked out on the floor.

They are not a dog to be around people. They are not pets. I shoot them on sight on my place just like coyotes, fox coon and other varmints.

Jp your gun comparison makes coonman look smarter. I know that not the case pick a different comparison.

A hunting lodge with a pit bull on the premises is trouble waiting to happen. Your cousin was lucky.
