So passed my first written test today. Only one who made a 100% so I'm leading the class a bit now all the recovery rigging I did in the army is making working with where cables ...I mean wires winches and lines pretty easy only thing that getting me is rigging these cavlvles. Instructors saying their good for a beginner but they look like hot garbage to me and it's irritating
Once you get some practice you can "throw" that hitch onto a cleat without having to bend down in a couple of seconds. As I am lazy, thats what i tend to do.

Here is a useless bit of info. Before Mathew hit Hilton Head island I had to re tie about 80 boats and during Irma I had to do that more than once during the storm. Having it tied to the cleat properly makes life a lot easier at times like that and a lot less dangerous. I was amazed how many long time boaters did not know how to put a hitch on a cleat. Some looked like a cat had played with a ball of string. Here on the lake after every bit of bad wheather, there a multiple posts on social media from people that have found or lost boats .....apparently bunnies are a thing here for "securing " a boat to the dock. Who knew.
