The one on the right is 10 and the left is 12.

Now there has been a tom or two on the farm I could go after but honestly I would rather enjoy seeing him and watching him all year instead of killing him for a few lb of turkey breast.
I guess it goes back to when I was q4 and there were few turkey around I killed one in my first 30 mins of hunting. Repeated that the meat time I went at 16 and its fun just not been exciting to me.

Now taking the kids that is where it's at with absolutely any hunting.

That is another great success story. What a great picture and thanks for sharing it.

Buddy got one on Sunday. It was quick, dead a half hour after arrival. From there on out very little gobbling and henned up. Today, every tom i saw was henned up. Had a couple jakes in my lap but that’s it. Saw a flock of toms and hens together at around 5 pm. No gobbles, no movement, just packed fairly tightly. We’ll see what next week brings.

I pluck the birds and gut them and cut the legs off at the joint and cut off the wing ends. I freeze them whole and later I put them on my Weber grill and baste and cook for 3-4 hours. I then pull the turkey all apart and bag and freeze in quart bags white separate from drumsticks. I take the drum sticks and other tough type meat and put it in slow cooker dishes that cook for 4-6 hours and that meat gets very tender. I buy those Bear Cat soup mixes, follow the recipe and then add 3 cups of chicken broth, one of my bags of cut up wild turkey and 3-4 pint bags of veggies and that makes great soup.
