You have to make up your mind you're going to get used to wearing it. It takes a couple weeks but its all in your head. Just get a mask (I use a nasal mask) and wear it.
Mttraper and Yukon, I had a test earlier in my life twenties and was told I didn't need one. As a teen I had surgery tonsils, adenoids, nasal, to correct my breathing obstructions and snoring I had even as a young kids. I use one all the time now.
When a person eats a high carb diet their hands swell up, their feet swell up, their belly swells up. their tongue swells up. Then trying to sleep with an extra 40 lbs of weight sitting on their chest and wonder why they cant breathe when they sleep.
A machine to make it all go away? a pill to make it all go away ?
Oh I see...Its just like covid, you can have it and not even know it. But as long as the doctor says you do, its best to listen to them and not try to get healthy, just buy their machine instead.
Has anyone ever met a person that went to a sleep apnea test and told they were fine and don’t need the machine? I think it is a big crock of crap.
My thoughts exactly.
I tend to believe this way also
I suppose in some extreme cases it may be helpful , but if you walk in with an insurance card you ain't walking out without a machine . Guaranteed , 100%
I have been using one for just shy of 11 years. I have a nasel mask and I have had very good success with my machine. I can hardly sleep at all without it. My pressure range has stayed the same since I started. The newer model had a ramp up phase which I deleted as I could not fall asleep with the lower pressure. I am down to waking up less then 2 times per hour with the machine. I was waking up 43 times per hour when I was tested.
I have not had the adjustment issues that many seem to have and I use mine all the time.

This ignorant reply comes up ever time these posts arise. Due to your symptoms your doctor schedules the test. They already know you have it BEFORE you go for the test. They need to find out how bad your case is so they know how to adjust the machine or you'll require surgery.

I doubt very much that any people, without serious problems with sleep apnea, bother to go through the hassle of referrals, consults and taking the night long sleep apnea test.

Right..they see your overweight and unhealthy. I could diagnose you too. If you really wanted to fix the problem, you could fix it yourself without surgery.
I see these ignorant post come up and I try to help.

Funny I was diagnosed with it when I was in the Army and in the best shape of my life
