We have one thats a freezer, you must leave an isle down the center.

Neatest idea I saw years ago, a Florida shipyard had 4 40 footers, 2 + 2 stacked with a roof between them. Had stairs to access the stacked units, and the height to put a large boat under the roof to work on out of the weather.

I have been looking at them. Amazing in my county they are not allowed becuse they are shipping containers not storage. Translation someone had them on their property and the neibors didn't like the look so went to the county with enough mone to get some ban passed. BUT Sam's, Walmart , and many other places seem tho have them and no issues go figure. There are individuals in the county with them also. As long as no one complains no issue. Also they baned them for storage but not from storing your container on your property.

We have 2 of them. Terrible condensation problem.

Forgiveness is just a prayer away.

I bought what they call a 1 way 20-footer. Like brand new. I looked at several older rusty ones before I found mine not far away. I insulated mine all the way around the inside. If you heat it inside, they can condense badly so I found I had to insulate it. I use it for our fish rendering building nothing else at the moment. I really like it. Mine was $3700 years ago. They had 2 door 40 footers for a good value at that time.

Insulated ones are less likely to have condensation problems but may cost you a bit more than a non insulated one.

Someone may have been renting them out on their property for storage.

If you buy one and put siding and a roof on it they look like a nice little shed. Kind of a pain but I can't imagine someone complaining if you dressed one up.

Here in my town & county they are taxed as a building if you own or rent when they hit the ground. IF on wheels and moveable, non- taxable. I may regret this statement.................... Tut

I've heard of some jurisdictions that ban them, however, some people throw a set of old mobile home axles under them and call them "mobile". Kind of a ridiculous loop-hole, but it apparently works.

Reminds me of a guy on the edge of town that was not allowed to put a mobile home on his property so he built a smaller house that looked like a mobile home, after several years he added on behind it to make more conventional looking. The guy was a hero. LOL

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!
