North American Trap Collectors will have a booth at the Rendezvous.

Antique Trap Road Show-
If you have a vintage trap, odd ball trap, old drag, old trap chain or parts, bring it to rondy.
Take it to Trap Collectors booth and ask them what you have. They will give you history and value of your trap (at no charge).

Trap Collectors booth with have a display of 'Pennsylvania Trap Manufactures' from years past! Stop in to see old Pa. traps and who made them. Neat stuff.

Tom Parr with have a vintage trap demo Thursday & Saturday.

Bring your old stuff to their booth, they would love to see it and tell you about it.

Hey west side, look me up. Would like to meet you. Ask any District 8 guy my whereabouts.

This promises to be a huge rendezvous. Acres of tailgaters and a lot of vendors.

Three buildings of Vendors-

Hern We have already meet . But i hope no one holds that against you Several years ago the PTA convention was in I think Schuylkill County You where talking with Paul Dobbins at one of the pavilions . I had a hand full of pictures from the Hughesville conventions put on by Neil Olson in the 1980's Among those pictures where Charlie Dobbins, Bob Jameson ,Keith Sterling Carroll Black, Bud Boda plus several other well known trappers from the hay days of $60.00 or more fox Iand $40.00 dollar coons .I joined the PTA as a lifetime member in 1982 .That year the convention was at South Mountain Fairgrounds in I think Adams county PA. I also meet Charlie Dobbins at that event He made a significant impression on me And he was the single most influential trapper that helped me to become a better trapper. And becoming a lifetime member of the PTA was hand in hand a wise investment at the time .For if I remember right $100.00 I joined as a life time member of PTA BUT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN $150..00 OR EVEN $200.00 Any way since than I have received as part of that initial cost a copy of every Trapper and Predator Caller magazine So even if it was $200 to join that was 40 plus years ago Which means my lifetime membership has cost me $5.00 a year for 40 plus years I am not sure if I can make it long enough to get that annual cost done to $3 a year but it might happen I have nearly every copy I ever received If I could find someone to buy them I would be able to say I made money by taking a lifetime membership to PTA 40 plus years ago .Also Hern I have been to several of the spring one day events that Distract 8 holds at Newville PA That is another great event for trappers to have a chance to get some bargains on supplies and save on shipping. The ones I went to had lots of things to see and buy if someone was looking for things And they have consignment sale at that event A percentage of the sale goes to the PTA The seller keeps the rest I have sold some things on that consignment auction . And have been pleased with the results It can be a painless way to support the PTA. So if I feel good enough to go to this years event I will find you event It all depends are how my health is doing when the time gets here Once upon a time I made plans and it took a mountain for me to change those plans But I am no longer in charge What I want to do is seldom what I am ab;e to do . .

The PTA usually kicks off the convention season for us trappers. Can’t wait for it…I’m like a kid at Christmas.

You wont be disappointed.

I am like w side rd 151, if my health holds up I will be there. My first PTA convention was 1961, I haven't made all of them since, but I have made quite a few.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Yes I have not been to as many of the PTA conventions as I would have liked to But I was in TENN for the 25th NTA convention in Cookeville Tenn . in 1984 . I also went to a few of the Virginia conventions over the last 15 to 20 Also attended some of the Maryland conventions Just a few years ago the FTA held their national convention in HARRISONBURG VA The PTA does a great job of moving their convention over the entire state from year to year I was able to attend conventions in Clearfield, Chester, Adams, Schuylkill, Mifflin/Juanita county Plus in 1993 the NTA was in York county and just a few years later they had it there again Or perhaps it was the PTA the second time .PA has a large number of trappers And my guess is the vendors typically like going to that event because they generally have a good amount of business from that event So more vendors means a better event for the trappers also .For you first timers you will be over whelmed by the amount and variety of ways to run up your credit card or lower your checking account Prepare accordingly or else do not take any money or form of payment to prevent yourself from breaking the budget And it is not just something for men only they have many things for woman and children so plan a mini vacation .

Think I’m going up Day 1.

April is autism awareness month. Nearly 1 in every 100 children are born with an autism spectrum disorder.. 1 in 100. Stop and think about it...please

Can I get on the grounds and get the camper set up on the 14th? Retired now so will not be in a hurry to get there and get back home. Will be nice to just leave here a day earlier and get set up before it starts. Last one I came over to I missed half the first day just getting there and getting set up.
