I never cared for the swept back angle of the A2 or that finger nub or it's small size
I measured it at way looked like 55* the guy in the video below states 56 or 57* so my 55 wasn't far off

my first stop was the MOE this measured to seem more like 60* to me it filled the hand better maybe it was 56-57 but it filled the hand a lot better shoots good in the chicken wing style , but I like the elbow down on an AR it works better for movement and even if on a flat target range just shooting a single target on a windy day that chicken wing acts like a sail
standing at 100 I found wing up my sights moved more than wing down

then found BCM mod2 liked it , and it looks to my protractor to be about 70* but wanted a little closer to 90 degrees yet

then I found the Magpul K2 (not pictured here) I have one just din't take the picture and liked the angle very easy to carry comfortably also and now magpul has a K2XL (picture below) now we are getting some place and it fills my hand more
I never made the stop at the K as it was too small for my XXL hands

here is a video that also helps to show the geometry differences

I like the grip to be more vertical, like the Magpul K series you show. One thing I do not like is finger grooves on a rifle that is built for quick handling. My hand doesn’t always land quite the same if in a hurry. Absence of indentions help in that scenario, it seems. I do like the grooves when rushing to get behind the gun isn’t required, so much.

People think it is nuts but I swear by www.ratgrips.com to make a grip fit the big handed man and put you finger were they should be every time.
Trigger pull distance is just as important as the trigger itself.

I don't care for finger grooves , my hand angle is going to change between positions and standing , kneeling , seated , prone , on a barricade , through a port hole, ect...

also gloves on gloves off will change things some

and as already mentioned I have to find my gloves in a XXL

I am not a fan of the finger grooves on my Gen 3 Glock either but the price was right on that and it is my backup gun to my Gen 4 I have the same sights so when I am shooting they look and operate the same even if they feel a touch different
and I just can't bring myself to sand them off like some people , the apparently don't bother me that much.

I might be the only person who isn't a fan of the 1911 because the bottom of the grip digs into my palm because it is too small

For someone that I would consider that knows about guns. I can not believe you do not want the gun in the same position every time you pick it up

I am not in the same position every time I pick it up

how do your finger grooves work when you start shooting weak hand , is your left identical to your right.

my index is the pad of the trigger finger on the trigger and the underside of the trigger guard with the middle finger knuckle. although I can shoot middle finger on trigger also. smashed my trigger finger one year and shot middle finger for a while.

depending on the position I am in my hand is going to be coming from a different angle

elbow pinned to side or prone out on the ground the hand angel will be different.

I can see where if you shoot from the same or similar position forming your own finger grooves could be useful.
no one else's ever seemed to work for me so I just avoided finger grooves.

I took a different direction a hand filling grip and traction on the grip , but no grooves

In an ideal world every shot every time would be perfectly identical.

Someone tell me where that world is, please.

Nope, I despise finger grooves on anything.

True, one size fits all really means one size fits none.

But a form fitted piece really only has one use, the static flat target range
