I stopped at the local Gun Store on Saturday just to look for an NRA tee shirt but like usual, when I came out I was a wee bit poorer.... But at least I had a new toy. A kinda cool looking shotgun caught my eye and since I was looking for a cheaper 12 auto tactical gun to keep by the door of my cabin I simply had to buy it. At least that's the excuse I used to convince myself I needed it ! It's a Tokarev BullPup 12 ga auto made in Turkey. I did some quick research and most everything I read was towards the positive side. This evening (Sunday) I changed out the gas piston from the light to the heavy one that came with it. Put in a 3" # 4 buck magnum shell in the clip and then above that I threw in a couple 2 3/4" #4 filed loads. Went outside and racked the first shell pretty LOUD and moderate kick, number two was the same but then next up was the 3"mag. That was kinda a punisher to my shoulder and my ears.. Put on some ear muffs and shot a couple more field loads and another 3" Mag. Gun functioned great. Kinda lets you know it's a lightweight ! Anybody own one or any other model of the Tokarev brand?

I've got a Saiga 12 with 20 round drum mag.

I’ve got the Canik Specture shotty, looks to be the same Turkish made gun as the Tokorev. First thing I did was clean/oil the action and cycled the action about a million times. Much smoother after that. Haven’t shot it much, but cycles #6 2 3/4 & #2 3” good. A friend of mine bought one before I did and his is still pretty stiff, especially the trigger, but he never did the break in.
Looking at the pictures I thought it was a cheap pile of junk, but after handling my buddies, I convinced myself it was worth it. I’d never use it for hunting but it’s a fun toy!

have you found spare mags for it? not much point in a box mag fed shotgun if you don't have the #1 reason for one , faster reloads

need to shoot it more ,would be interesting on clay
