Since 2002, the MDHA has been involved in the Governor's Deer Opener. This year, due to the state's anti-gun stance and the wolf hunting and trapping ban, the MDHA will not be involved. This decision was made by the Executive Board.

They have always supported the Governor's Deer Opener. This year they have made a public statement that due to the anti-gun and wolf season, they will not be supporting it this year.

Good call

Walz would probably prefer to spend his time at a NAMBLA convention than go deer hunting

Right. He opposes anything to do with guns.

or is it like they wave their hands and bless the MN-DNR deer regs for the year ?

hasn't the Governor o MN been anti gun for years ?

did the Liberal deer hunters finally realized they are coming for their guns also , that it isn't about safety or common sense? it is about control

we have a lot of what we call "Liberals that deer hunt" in WI you can usually spot one in a few words , (you don't need that to shoot deer) nope I don't and the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting deer it has to do with your right to fight tyrants with gun fire.

I think that is fantastic! I am sure Walz doesn't know which is the dangerous end of a rifle anyway but at least they took a stand.

I have nothing clever to put here.

The efficiency of the MDHA is an unknown to me. I am glad they took a stand but not sure it’s all that effective.

Wouldn't it be better if the public sees the governor hunting deer? Most people don't hunt but if they see the governor hunting especially a liberal governor like Walz maybe it takes some steam away from the anti hunters.

Hot Pink is a legal color to wear now instead of blaze orange so Walz may go just to wear pink.

It could be said that being a part of the governor's opener is a validation of his agenda.

Walz can go fly a kite.

Not a valid question, since that you got up there ain't going to go deer hunting anyway.

If just being seen hunting might fool some people, but if you've been paying any attention Walz is no friend of hunters. The point is the Deer Hunters Association can see through the disguise and wants no part of the sham. Kudos for the MN Deer Hunters Association.
